WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (CNN) – A Connecticut man doing bridge inspections died after a boom-truck became unbalanced and tipped over on him.
It happened on a highway entrance ramp in west Hartford Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say 43-year-old William Shook was outside the truck and deploying its boom when the truck rolled over, crushing him between it and the guardrail.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It took hours to lift the wreck.
State DOT officials say the company that owns the truck, McClain and Company, was involved in another incident in the state the day before.
Two inspectors were in a truck’s bucket when the boom became stuck.
The company has been temporarily suspended in Connecticut until it can be determined what caused Wednesday’s fatal accident.
One of the things investigators will look at is if the same truck was involved in both accidents.
