Roseburg, Ore. (KOIN) — Classes were set to resume on Monday morning at Umpqua Community College, more than a week after a shooter killed 8 students and a teacher before killing himself in a deadly rampage in a campus classroom.
Around 8 a.m., Oregon Governor Kate Brown will be on campus with UCC President Rita Cavin.
In a statement, Cavin said “We are all so eager to return to teaching our students. Our students are eager to return to their studies. Our lives have been forever changed but our spirit is strong…We are resilient, resourceful and ready. We are UCC strong.”
On Friday, President Barack Obama met with families of the shooting victims during a brief visit to Roseburg.
