COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (FOX21)— A local woman wants to thank the child who gave her daughter a teddy bear while the teen was having a medical emergency in Old Colorado City Saturday.
Casi Dunavin reached out to FOX21 News Sunday morning. She said she and her family were at the pumpkin festival in Old Colorado City Saturday when her 14-year-old daughter said she was dizzy. Seconds later, she collapsed to the ground in a seizure.
Dunavin said there were several people nearby, and she yelled for someone to call 911. That’s when she heard a child’s voice say “give this to her,” and someone put a brown teddy bear in her daughter’s arms.
“I never saw the face of the little child who gave my daughter his stuffed bear,” Dunavin said in an email. “I never saw the face of the person who gently placed their hand on my back in an attempt to comfort me.”
Dunavin said her 10-year-old saw the act of kindness, and thought the child may have been 7 or 8 years old.
“I never saw the face of the lady who helped me cushion my daughter’s head with her purse or the face of the person who used their child’s Halloween costume to help cushion her head even more,” Dunavin said.
“My daughter was very touched by this and we would love for this mystery child to know that she is okay today and that his random act of kindness and selflessness was very much appreciated and will never be forgotten,” Dunavin said.
Dunavin also wants to thank the other people in the crowd who helped her daughter, as well as the firefighters and EMTs who responded to the scene.
“I would love for them to know how grateful and appreciative myself, my children and husband are for everything they did for us,” she said.
