DETROIT (WKBN) – The Lincoln Continental is back!
The big and sumptuous Lincoln, best known for carrying presidents and rock stars, was discontinued a few years ago. But as part of Lincoln’s new plan to re-gain its place as a luxury car maker, the marque is bringing back its best-known nameplate.
The flagship auto will be on sale in the fall. Powered by a 400 horsepower 3 liter V-6, luxury touches include rear seats that heat, cool, and massage you.
Acura, Honda’s luxury brand, is 30 years old in 2016. In hopes to set new standards of design for its next 30 years, it debuted the new Acura Precision Concept Tuesday morning at the Detroit auto show. This 4 door concept features a new “diamond pentagon” grille you will see on coming Acuras. Technology in the cockpit includes facial recognition so the car knows when you sit down to drive and puts your personal settings for seating, entertainment and temperature into place for you.
No mention was made of engine power, so expect this to be a styling leader only for the brand.
GMC is GM’s highly-profitable all truck and SUV brand. So GM isn’t messing with success with its 2017 Acadia full-size SUV coming this summer. It looks like an Acadia but with more refined features than the current model. This is the new All Terrain version featuring a new and Acadia-exclusive all-wheel-drive system for going off-road.
The new Acadia is actually slightly smaller and much lighter than the current model – 700 pounds lighter. That helps it achieve 28 mpg in front-wheel drive configuration.
New features include a rear-vision camera specifically designed to help you back up and hitch up to your boat or trailer. It has built-in wifi and a computer that knows if you opened the rear door and will remind you to check the rear seats so you don’t leave a child there accidentally.
