BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — In Erie County Wednesday morning, the cold weather gained national attention as the infamous “carcicle” at Hoak’s Restaurant in Hamburg was freed.
North of Hamburg, in Niagara County, the morning started off with notice of a lake-effect snow advisory for Niagara County. The advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday.
Although the advisory is set to start in the evening, Niagara County still felt Mother Nature’s wrath in the morning.
With advisories, warnings and a frozen car came school closings in various parts of western New York.
