CHICAGO, Illinois (WKBN) – Toyota’s TRD (Toyota Racing Development) Pro series of pickups is its showcase and its best seller. The high end trucks bring in younger, more affluent buyers than its other trucks. So the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro unveiled at the Chicago auto show is a big deal.
The refreshed Tacoma sports blackout trim and hood scoop, Rigid brand LED fog lights, 16″ black alloy wheels, and Goodyear Wrangler ties.
The suspension is lifted more than inch for greater ground clearance when you are off-roading.
Four wheel drive is standard, and it offers “crawl control” for s-l-o-o-o-w-l-y traversing the steepest rock trails. Skid plates underneath the chassis put steel armor between you and the jagged rocks that would otherwise do damage.

It will be built in Toyota’s San Antonio, Texas factory. Expect it in showrooms this fall. No pricing was announced.
