(CNN) – Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tightening their grips on the Democratic and Republican presidential nominations.

Clinton has six state wins. Trump has five.

Bernie sanders took two, including his home state of Vermont.

Ted Cruz also claimed two states, including Super Tuesday’s biggest prize — his home state of Texas.

A confident Donald Trump told the Republican establishment to accept him as the nominee.

“I am a unifier. Once we get all this finished, I am going after one person – that’s Hillary Clinton,” he said.

Clinton won a handful of states early. Now, her focus is on Trump.

“Instead of building walls, we are going to break down barriers,” she said.

Bernie sanders easily won his home state of Vermont. Supporters happy with the outcome chanted his popular slogan — “Feel the Bern.”

The Super Tuesday contests are a delegate bonanza for front-runners and a test of survival for others.

“When I am president of the United States, we will not just save the American dream, we will it to reach more people than ever,” said Republican candidate Marco Rubio.

Sanders and Clinton are vying for for more than a third the delegates needed to win the Democratic race.

“This campaign isn’t just about electing a president, it’s about transforming America,” Sanders said.

The stakes are higher for Republicans.

Nearly half the Republican delegates needed to clinch the GOP nomination are up for grabs. Many of these states will divide those delegates proportionally.

“Our campaign is the only campaign that has beaten, that can beat, and that will beat Donald Trump,” Cruz said.
