ROSMAN, N.C. (WNCN) — Photos taken of a NC State Trooper helping a little boy have gone viral on social media since the weekend.

Amanda Jones Hoxit of Rosman, NC in Transylvania County snapped two photos from her car at a gas station on Saturday.

Hoxit’s photos show a trooper pulled over helping a little boy with his bicycle at Jarrett’s gas station in Rosman, which is near Brevard.

The pair are kneeling down beside the gas station’s air pump — and the trooper is helping the boy figure out how to fix his bicycle tire.

Later, the NC Highway Patrol identified the trooper as A.J. Norman of Troop G District 3. The agency issued a press release that was spurred by Hoxit’s photos.

“Trooper Norman, while on routine patrol, observed the unidentified child attempting to put air into the back tire of his bicycle. Trooper Norman pulled into the parking lot of Jarrett Brothers IGA to assist the child with his tire. He attempted to fix the tire which had become detached from the back rim of the bicycle,” the NC Highway Patrol said in a press release.

The photos had nearly 3,000 shares and hundreds of ‘likes’ by Monday after Hoxit posted the images on her Facebook page on Saturday.

“Now that is how 99 percent of our troopers react to situations, remember one bad doesn’t spoil the whole bunch. Thank you, who ever you are,” wrote one person, Fred E Handsel, on Facebook.
