TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Thousands of Verizon workers could be walking off the job on Wednesday.
That’s if they don’t reach a new labor agreement with the company.
40,000 Verizon employees say they’ve gone without a contract since August.
Their union says its trying to stop Verizon from moving jobs offshore or cutting benefits for injured workers.
Verizon says the company has thousands of non-union workers trained to cover new assignments in the event of a strike.
