PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Boeing 737 operated by Alaska Airlines landed safely at PDX Wednesday morning after losing pressure in the cabin. It circled Portland International Airport to burn off fuel before landing safely at 11 a.m., according to Portland Fire Lt. Rich Chatman.
The flight departed PDX at 9:18 a.m. and was headed to Phoenix. It lost air pressure 40 minutes into the flight.
According to an Alaska spokesperson, the pilots lowered the plane to 10,000 feet and turned back towards PDX.
There were 144 passengers on board and 5 crew members. No one reported any injuries or medical problems.
Alaska mechanics are investigating why the cabin lost pressure.
The airline is helping the passengers find other flights to Phoenix.
