(WSPA) – The Greenville Police department released the radio transmission along with a 911 call from the day Officer Allen Jacobs was shot and killed.
7News obtained these recordings from the Greenville police after filing a Freedom of Information Act request.
“Shots fired, Shots fired,” a police officer is heard saying. “Officer is down.”
The nearly 15-minute long [transmission] began at 12:27 p.m. after a police officer radioed in to tell dispatchers that Officer Jacobs was shot near the 300 block of Laurens Rd.
The suspect is identified as Deontea Mackey.
The officer radios in that Jacobs was shot in the shoulder and the chest.
A man calls dispatch to let them know about the shot he heard hear where he worked.
