CHANHASSEN, Minn. (MEDIA GENERAL) — Pop music superstar Prince died at his home in suburban Minneapolis Thursday. He was 57.
Prince broke through in the late 1970s with “Wanna Be Your Lover” and soared with albums “1999” and “Purple Rain.” He was widely acclaimed as one of the most inventive musicians of his era.
Following the news of his death, fans and stars alike quickly took to social media to express their shock and disbelief but also remember the music icon.
