PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Mars Chocolate North America announced a voluntary recall of certain COMBOS Cheddar Cheese Pretzel, Cheddar Cheese Cracker, Pizzeria Pretzel, Sweet and Salt Caramel Pretzel, Pepperoni Cracker, and Buffalo Pretzel packages due to potential undeclared peanut residue.
Mars initiated the recall after its supplier, Grain Craft, recalled certain lots of wheat flour that had the potential of containing low levels of peanut residue. The COMBOS brand products that have been recalled may have been produced using the recalled flour.
The FDA advises consumers with severe allergies to peanuts to avoid the recalled products due to the peanut residue. The amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours and affect products is considered to be low and is not expected to cause adverse health effects to those with a peanut allergy.
The affected COMBOS products have “Best Before” dates ranging from March 2017 to April 2017.

To date, Mars Chocolate has not received any reports of illness related to the products in this recall. No other Mars products are impacted by this recall.
