HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton discussed national security and defense at the Virginia Air and Space Center.
Clinton led a panel discussion that included military officials, service members and family of those who have served in the armed forces.
In her opening remarks, Clinton said, “It’s time for substantive discussions about how we protect, how we respond to terrorist attacks – like the one that tragically occurred in Orlando.”
Clinton added, “As we have seen in Orlando and San Bernardino … we are facing a twisted ideology that inspires so-called ‘lone wolves’ – radicalized individuals who may or may not have any kind of formal contact or direction from terror groups like ISIS.”
Clinton vowed on Wednesday that they will “assemble a team from across the government, private sector and our communities” in order to “get on top of this challenge” such “lone wolves.”
