MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (CNN) – A Wisconsin high school has been ordered to remove a logo from a new gym floor.
Elk Mound High School renovated its gym floor this year with a center design that was somewhat modeled after the Milwaukee Bucks’ new logo.
Critics claimed the school copied the Bucks’ logo.
Elk Mound School Superintendent Ron Walsh said the NBA asked the school to take the logo off the floor.
Walsh said the Milwaukee Bucks saw it as a well-intended effort and will pay the estimated $4,000 cost to remove the logo.
The new floor will now feature a more traditional design.
The school hopes to have the floor finished by August.
