DETROIT, Mich. (CNN) – A historic building in Detroit came crumbling down Saturday morning.
The old Park Avenue Hotel was imploded.
Developers said the building had to come down to make way for the new Red Wings Arena.
Preservationists said they are sad to see the building go. The hotel opened in 1925.
The Park Avenue Hotel was a $2 million dollar building, featuring 250 rooms.
The hotel was destroyed two months shy of its 90th anniversary.
