SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg Deputies arrested a couple after they called 911 five times because they claimed to have seen possums and people jumping out of the refrigerator and microwave.

Brandon Dwayne Terry and Casey Dawn Fowler have been charged with unlawful use of 911.

According to the incident report, the responding deputy asked them if they were on any type of narcotic, to which they said no.

The couple then began to tell the deputy that they had pictures of worms coming out of the floor of their vehicle and pictures of people in camouflage.

The deputy says he looked at several of the pictures, and only saw a basketball hoop and a tree.

The couple said they could clearly see a person standing beside the tree.

The deputy says when he told the couple there was nothing there, Terry told him it was because only he could see it.

When the deputy made a background check on Terry, he discovered Terry had six felony warrants from Cleveland County, North Carolina for narcotics charges.

During a field sobriety test, the deputy says Terry stopped and said that he felt the deputy touching his eyes.

The deputy told Terry that his six warrants were for pills and cocaine. Terry then said that he did experiment with drugs in the past, but denied being under the influence of any narcotics.

The deputy said in the report that his training and experience made him believe that Terry and Fowler were under the influence of a narcotic, possibly “Gravel” aka “Flakka,” in which the user’s actions are similar to that of bath salts.

The deputy had EMS examine the couple. They reported that the couple seemed to be fine mentally and didn’t have a prior history of mental illness.

The deputy then said he spoke to Fowler’s mother, who said she was coming to Spartanburg to check on the couple because she believed they were on drugs.

The mother told the deputy that neither person had a history of mental illness, but did have a history of drug use.
