CHICAGO, Illinois (WKBN) – One of the best-known names in pickup truck history, Power Wagon, has an all new design for 2017.

Known since 2009 as a part of the Ram brand, the newest version of Dodge Ram Power Wagon debuted on Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show.
Based on the Ram 2500 heavy duty Crew Cab pickup truck, Power Wagon will sport a new grille, special Power Wagon graphics, exclusive colors and top-of-the-line perks.

Power Wagon first served as the ultimate beast of burden in World War II as a Dodge, helping the Allied Army carry troops and supplies in every theater of the war. It was even a star in the 1980s TV show “Simon and Simon.”

Known since 2009 as a part of the Ram brand, the newest version of “the ultimate off-road truck” debuted on Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show.

Power Wagon is what Ram executives call “an enthusiasts truck,” meaning it has an over-the-top design and power and offers features found on no other truck; which conveniently allows Ram dealers to charge a hefty premium over lesser models.

Based on the Ram 2500 heavy duty Crew Cab pickup truck, Power Wagon will sport a new grille, special Power Wagon graphics, exclusive colors and top-of-the-line perks: a winch in the front bumper, a back-up and bed-view camera, more than 14 inches of ground clearance, 33 inch tires, 420 horsepower and a stump-pulling 429 lb-ft of torque.

Power comes from a 6.4 liter Hemi V-8, giving it 10,030 pounds of towing capacity.

It will be available in three trim levels, from a base Tradesman model (without all the graphics) to a premium package.
