CHICAGO, Illinois (WKBN) – Chevrolet is on a roll, unveiling two new vehicles Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show.

Chevy’s Camaro was all new for 2016. It will now add the 1LE model, which is a race-track ready sports car.

Also debuting in the newest version of the compact utility vehicle is Trax.

Trax came into the Chevy lineup just 13 months ago and is a hot seller. Chevy says it unveiled the Trax in the Windy City because it is the area’s top-selling small SUV.

Trax has a new grille, new premium interior appointments and a raft of active safety features – plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The 2017 Trax goes on sale this fall in three trim levels, including a new high-end Premium level.

The new Camaro 1LE models bring the track-ready performance from the old Camaro chassis to its all-new-for-2016 chassis. Now, several hundred pounds lighter, the new 1LE will be available on both V-6 and V-8 models. Each is visually distinguished with a satin black hood, special wheels and more.

Since it is designed for the race track, 1LE comes only with a manual transmission. The V-6 Camaro has 335 horsepower; the V-8 has 445 hp.

Each features more aggressive suspension tuning, standard Brembo brakes and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Available Recaro seats will keep you planted in the corners while racing.

The 1LE packages come this fall with the 2017 Camaro. No pricing was announced.

Chevrolet executives say Chevy is the fastest-growing major brand in the auto industry.
